Job Summary
Job Title: Chemical Engineer
Location:
Limpopo, Waterberg District, Lephalale
Job Type:
6 month Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours
Job Duties:
- Designing and implementing chemical processes
- Conducting research to develop new chemical products
- Overseeing the operation of chemical processes
- Evaluating equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to develop solutions to chemical-related problems
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical engineering, particularly in the following areas:
- Design and optimization of chemical processes related to Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) or similar environmental compliance systems.
- Experience in process design, wastewater treatment systems, chemical reaction engineering, and chemical handling and storage.
- Proven track record in process safety management and conducting hazard and operability studies (HAZOP).
- Experience in leading the design, implementation, and commissioning of chemical systems for power generation or industrial facilities.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and principles
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Excellent analytical and technical skills
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
