Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Project Cargo Manager.
Responsibilities
- Drive commercial sales strategies to secure and expand the project cargo client base across SADC countries.
- Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals tailored to diverse client requirements across the region.
- Plan, manage, and execute end-to-end operations for project cargo shipments, including specialized, standard, oversized, and heavy-lift cargo across multiple countries.
- Conduct risk assessments, route planning, and feasibility studies to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with internal teams, service providers, and clients to design efficient multimodal transport solutions across the SADC region.
- Stay updated on import/export regulations and oversee customs clearance processes specific to the operational regions.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transport providers and suppliers to ensure value for money and adherence to quality standards.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships across multiple countries, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Monitor project progress across the region, resolve challenges promptly, and provide transparent communication to stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor team members to enhance their commercial, operational, and technical capabilities in managing diverse project cargo logistics.

- Strong understanding of logistics networks, customs regulations, and infrastructure challenges in the SADC region.
- Expertise in handling a variety of project cargo types, including specialized, standard, oversized, and heavy-lift shipments.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proven commercial acumen with experience driving revenue growth and managing client relationships.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages across the region is an asset.
- Proficiency in logistics tools and software such as ERP systems and cargo tracking platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across diverse geographical regions in a dynamic environment.
- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in project cargo logistics and mining logistics, including commercial sales, tender preparation, and operational execution within the SADC region.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; professional certifications are advantageous.
