Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Country Manager to oversee their operations in Namibia.
This role is crucial for managing all facets of the business, including business development, strategic planning, operations, finance, HR, and customs compliance. Ideally, the candidate will have a background in the logistics, transport or supply chain industry, with a proven ability to drive growth and ensure operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Namibian Citizen
- Grade 12
- Logistics and Supply Management or Transport Management qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years in a senior management role within the transport industry (Preferable)
- Proven track record in managing country-level operations and driving business growth.
- Extensive experience in customs management, cross-border clearing and logistics.
- Materials Handling experience i.e., forklift, tie down and Hazchem operations.

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the country strategy aligned with corporate goals. Drive growth, manage resources and ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations within the transport sector, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness and high performance. Implement best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the country budget and financial performance. Monitor and report on financial metrics to ensure targets are met and compliance with local regulations.
- Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders.
- HR Management: Lead and develop the country team. Oversee recruitment, training, performance management and employee engagement. Ensure adherence to HR policies and practices.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies. Address and resolve any legal or regulatory issues.
- Customs and Clearing Management:
- Oversee customs and clearing documentation and processes for road freight to Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland and Lesotho.
- Maintain relationships with customs agents, regulatory bodies and service providers.
- Ensure smooth clearance of goods and compliance with customs regulations and tariffs.
- Handle cross-border transportation issues and ensure efficient movement of goods.
- Operational Requirements:
- Direct and coordinate all transport-related operational functions.
- Optimize logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing and inventory management.
- Implement and manage operational processes to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of transport technology and systems.
- Manage operational KPIs and performance metrics, reporting on results and addressing issues as needed.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities and market developments. Adjust strategies to leverage opportunities and address challenges in the transport sector
