Job Summary
Hire Resolve's Client are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong T-SQL or PL/SQL skills, detailed knowledge of Integration and Reporting Services (MS-SQL), and an in-depth understanding of database technology architecture. Proficiency in Unix/Linux (for Oracle) is advantageous, along with vendor certifications in database administration. A problem solver with a proactive mindset, the candidate will ensure the performance, security, and availability of our database systems while collaborating with developers and optimizing database operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of SQL databases, including routine maintenance, upgrades, and backups.
- Integration & Reporting Services: Implement and maintain Integration and Reporting Services, with a focus on MS-SQL environments.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune database systems for performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Development Support: Collaborate with developers to design, implement, and maintain database objects, including stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of services.
- System Architecture: Maintain an in-depth understanding of database technology architecture and implement best practices.
- Security: Implement and monitor database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of database configurations, procedures, and problem resolutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in database administration.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in T-SQL (MS-SQL) or PL/SQL (Oracle).
- Detailed knowledge of Integration and Reporting Services (if using MS-SQL).
- Strong understanding of relevant database technology architectures.
- Operating Systems: Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments (for Oracle databases).
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
- Certification: Vendor certification in database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Oracle Certified Professional) is advantageous.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS RDS).
- Experience with database migrations and disaster recovery solutions.
