Job Summary
Job Purpose
Hire Resolve's Client is seeking a Electronics Engineer who will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and optimizing electronic systems and components for their products and solutions. This position requires a hands-on engineer who can support the company’s innovative projects and product designs while ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Circuit Design and Development: Design, simulate, and develop analog and digital circuits, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Prototyping and Testing: Build, test, and troubleshoot prototypes, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability standards are met.
- Product Development: Contribute to the design and development of new products and solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align designs with project requirements and timelines.
- Component Selection and Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and source components and materials that meet technical specifications, cost targets, and availability requirements.
- System Integration: Work on integrating electronics systems into products, ensuring seamless functionality with mechanical and software components.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
- Compliance and Safety Standards: Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory compliance, including CE, FCC, and any other relevant certifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and design improvements, suggesting enhancements to improve product performance, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting and support for products, both in development and in the field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electronics design and development.
- Experience in the design, development, and testing of analog and digital electronics.
- Previous experience with PCB layout software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle) and simulation tools.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
- Proficiency in embedded system programming (C/C++) and familiarity with microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., UART, I2C, SPI, CAN).
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other test equipment.
- Soft Skills:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Accuracy and reliability of designs.
- Timeliness in project completion and milestone achievements.
- Reduction in field issues related to electronic components and systems.
- Efficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Quality of documentation and technical support provided.
Working Conditions
- Based in Cape Town, with a mix of office and lab/production floor environments.
- May involve occasional travel to support field deployments or client sites.
- Potential overtime to meet project deadlines or resolve critical issues.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in electronics (e.g., IPC standards).
- Experience in product lifecycle management and familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
