Position: Quantity Surveyor

Purpose:
Hire Resolve is looking for a Quantity Surveyor for our client in Pretoia to manage cost and material estimates, budgets, and ensure cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves working closely with site managers and the sales team to maximize project profitability.
Requirements:
- BA degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role
- Strong understanding of construction costs, pricing, and estimating
- Experience in scaffolding is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements
- Commitment to professional growth and ethical standards
Duties:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Analyze project plans to identify cost risks and opportunities
- Negotiate with clients and contractors for cost-effective solutions
- Prepare and submit accurate, competitive tender documents
- Monitor project progress and costs, reporting any discrepancies from the initial estimate
- Submit monthly claims and ensure timely payments
- Keep detailed records of project financials and provide monthly cost reports with explanations for any deviations from estimates.
