Job Summary
Job Overview:
The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, staff management, and guest satisfaction. The AGM serves as acting GM in the General Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the GM in daily operations and administrative tasks
- Supervise front-of-house staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Assist with financial management, including cash handling and reporting
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol regulations
- Participate in marketing and promotional activities
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations
- Implement and maintain company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in staff training and development
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations
- Customer service excellence
- Food safety certification and alcohol service licensing
- Proficiency with restaurant POS systems and scheduling software
