Medical Sales Representative - Medical Consumables and Manufacturing Company
Our client, a leading Medical Consumables and Manufacturing company, is seeking persuasive and customer-focused Medical Sales Representatives to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in medical sales, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of medical products and industry regulations. Your primary goal will be to engage healthcare professionals and successfully promote our medical products, driving sales and building long-lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement:
- Schedule and conduct meetings with potential and existing customers, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Present and promote company products to persuade customers to make purchases.
- Identify customer needs and recommend the most suitable company products.
Sales & Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through excellent after-sales service.
- Strategically negotiate sales terms to close deals and achieve sales targets.
- Arrange and participate in conferences, group events, and educational workshops for medical professionals.
Market Research & Reporting:
- Regularly attend industry events, training sessions, company meetings, and briefings to stay informed about market trends and product developments.
- Research competitors’ products, pricing strategies, and market performance.
- Prepare and submit detailed sales reports, territory analyses, and purchase orders to management.
Compliance & Product Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical legislation and clinical data to understand their impact on company sales.
- Continuously deepen your understanding of the company’s product portfolio and clinical data.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Medical Office Management, Nursing, or a related field is preferred.
- Certified Sales Professional (CSP) certification is advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in medical sales, particularly in medical devices.
- Medical Supply Sales experience is required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and consultative sales skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Computer literacy and expertise in filing and documentation management.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car.
- Sales reps will have a cellular allowance of R750 per month.
- The role involves working in Gauteng and travelling to other provinces for week-long trips, covering entire provinces such as North West, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga (Rep 1), Eastern Cape (Rep 2), Western Cape (Rep 3), Northern Cape and Free State (Rep 4), and KZN (Rep 5).
Leave Entitlement:
- 15 days of annual leave.
- 5 days of sick leave.
- 2 days of family responsibility leave.
Salary:
- R15,000 - R20,000 + 5% commission (with targets of R1,000,000).
- 5% of R1,000,000 = R50,000.
