Qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with a strong academic background is NON-NEGOTIABLE
- Minimum of 15 years of post-articles experience in a financial leadership role having dealt with group consolidations in an international or global environment
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting
- Experience in systems integration across finance and operational functions
- Proficient in managing foreign currency transactions and exposure.
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
Company and Role Overview:
Our client, a renowned luxury brand known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional customer experience, is looking to appoint an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy, ensuring robust financial management and operational efficiency across the company’s global operations.
The CFO will be a key member of the Executive team, responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization. This individual will manage group consolidations, drive systems integration across finance, retail stores, and manufacturing, as well as ensure compliance with local and foreign tax regulators. The CFO will also navigate foreign currency transactions and reporting as the company operates in both the local and the overseas markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
- Provide strategic direction and insights to the executive team regarding financial performance and opportunities.
Group Consolidations:
- Manage group consolidation processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all subsidiaries.
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Systems Integration:
- Lead the integration of financial systems across retail operations, workshops, and factory processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure seamless data flow and reporting capabilities.
Foreign Currency Management:
- Oversee foreign currency transactions and manage exposure to foreign exchange risks.
- Develop strategies for effective currency management in line with international operations.
Tax Compliance:
- Manage all local tax matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing tax strategies.
- Liaise with tax advisors and regulatory authorities as necessary.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide regular financial reports to the board and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare forecasts that align with strategic goals.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for finance staff.
