Job Summary
Hire Resolve is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to join a dynamic conveyor manufacturing company based in Centurion. This role is pivotal in overseeing production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Pulleys department’s operations and full functions.
- Report directly to top management (Directors).
- Initiate and lead meetings for new projects/orders to determine specific job requirements and scheduling.
- Generate production and costings reports.
- Follow up daily on:
- Supervision and scheduling of all production activities.
- Work in progress related to supplier and subcontractor orders.
- Work on the factory floor.
- Daily QC activities in the factory and at subcontractors.
- Maintenance and monitoring of Health and Safety (QMS 9001:2015).
- Maintenance of the quality system and compilation of data books for specific projects.
- Digital production schedules for multiple projects with assistance from material controller and production planner.
- Manage at least 50 employees across various levels, requiring:
- A positive but strict management style.
- A balance between positive engagement and necessary discipline.
- Supervision of engineering, drafting, planning, and admin staff.
- Oversight of employees ranging from laborers to qualified tradesmen.
- Strong communication and positive relationships with foremen and supervisors as a non-negotiable priority.
- Training of lower-level management and staff as needed (on-the-job training).
- Ongoing evaluation of employee performance and productivity.
- Knowledge of Metal Industry Bargaining Council (MEIBC) is advantageous.
Requirements:
- Qualified Trade
- Production Management tertiary education highly advantageous
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a production management role within the Steel fabrication and Machining.
- Strong understanding of production processes and methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in production planning tools and software.
- Knowledge of safety and quality management standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
