Job Summary
Hire Resolve's Client is seeking a Fitter to join their team. The Fitter is responsible for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role is crucial in minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs promptly.
- Ensure all repairs meet company and industry standards.
Installation
- Assemble, install, and align machinery and mechanical components as per specifications.
- Test and commission new installations to confirm proper functionality.
Operational Efficiency
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Propose and implement efficiency improvement measures.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations during maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade Certificate as a Fitter (NQF Level 4 or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing, engineering, or a related environment.
- Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with welding and machining is advantageous.
