Job Summary
A leading steel manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee production operations, ensure process efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers a dynamic leadership opportunity to manage a high-performance production team and ensure operational excellence in a world-class industrial environment.
Requirements:
- B-Degree (NQF 8/10) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred)
- Management Development Program (Advantageous)
- Proven expertise in both production and maintenance functions
- Experience in leading lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- 3 years' experience in a managerial role
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, targets, and quality standards
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and promote a zero-harm culture
- Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate production staff to achieve optimal performance
- Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Quality Control & Assurance: Coordinate with quality control teams to maintain product excellence
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with maintenance, supply chain, and logistics to ensure seamless operations
- Production Reporting & KPIs: Monitor key performance metrics and present insights to senior management
- Budget & Cost Control: Manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations
- Problem-Solving & Downtime Management: Address production challenges proactively and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
