About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced and skilled Draughtsperson to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical drawings, plans, and schematics based on specifications and instructions from engineers and other professionals. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, functionality, and regulatory compliance in the development of technical products and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create technical drawings and plans based on specifications and instructions from engineers.
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback and project changes.
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations, and material requirements for designs.
• Produce 2D and 3D technical drawings, plans, and schematics using AutoCAD.
• Review technical drawings with engineers and other specialists to ensure accuracy.
• Identify potential operational issues and propose design improvements to enhance product functionality.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and documentation.
• Prepare cut files for production purposes based on technical drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of designs.
• Meet project deadlines and manage priorities set by your supervisor.
• Ensure designs comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Manage and update drawing files and databases for easy access and retrieval.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience in the draughting field, with a strong track record of creating technical drawings.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
• Excellent CAD software skills, specifically AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with CorelDraw.
• Ability to estimate costs for designs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
