A leading distributor of laboratory equipment is seeking a dynamic National Technical Service Manager to oversee workshop operations across multiple locations in South Africa. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of workshop and SANAS calibration services while actively promoting them to drive business growth.

Key responsibilities include maintaining high service standards, leading technical teams, and managing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of laboratory and research equipment. The position is based in Cape Town and requires travel between workshop locations across South Africa. Relevant Tertiary qualification and a minimum of 5 years managing technical teams and workshops required.

Requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Electronics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years managing technical teams or workshops.
• Proven ability to manage operations across multiple sites.
• In-depth understanding of equipment maintenance and repair processes.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Experience in tendering processes for service contracts in regulated industries required.
• Proficiency in CRM, or workshop management software
• Willing to travel between workshop locations in South Africa.
• Experience in managing laboratory or research equipment is advantageous.

Duties:

• Team leadership and management: Oversee workshops, provide training and manage budgets.
• Operational Oversight: Develop and implement processes and monitor productivity.
• Technical: Provide technical guidance re repairs and servicing and maintain high standards.
• Manage tender processes for service contracts.
• Customer Service: Ensure customer satisfaction and address complaints.
• Budget and Resource Management: Prepare, manage and control budgets, targets and costs.
• Compliance and Safety: Enforce and ensure compliance
• Reporting and Strategy: Analyse performance data and develop strategies for improvement
