Job Title: Head of Strategic Reporting Position Type: Permanent Role Family: Finance (Hybrid work option available) Role Purpose: The Head of Strategic Reporting is responsible for facilitating strategic and financial planning, providing critical business intelligence, and ensuring effective monitoring of operations and strategic execution. This role enables stakeholders to make informed and impactful decisions that support the overall business strategy. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and review of monthly updates on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the executive committee, identifying trends, variances, and providing explanations. Lead the drafting of commentary and presentations for internal reporting to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors. Provide in-depth commercial insights and analysis of business performance, highlighting trends and challenging assumptions to optimize performance. Monitor industry reports and sell-side analyst commentary to assess whether additional disclosures are needed in the integrated report or results presentations. Collaborate with various business units to ensure reporting aligns with changing requirements and business needs. Deliver accurate, timely, and value-adding analysis to support decision-making across the organization. Manage the Q&A process for results and lead the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Strategic Business Review (SBR) processes. Ensure appropriate internal controls and measurement systems are in place to support management reporting. Create visualizations of financial analysis to help inform business decisions. Analyze financial results to evaluate the impact of business strategies and their potential implications for the company. Provide ad-hoc analysis on key areas, such as investor relations, financial modeling, industry trends, business plans for mergers and acquisitions, and large-scale investments. Contribute to a high-performance team culture and drive improvements in reporting and analysis. Key Competencies: Strong understanding of financial services, with a particular focus on business performance drivers within the industry. In-depth knowledge of relevant financial regulations and frameworks. Excellent business acumen with the ability to understand complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights. Exceptional written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders. Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle shifting priorities and manage change effectively. Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Capable of managing stress and competing demands while maintaining high performance. Self-starter with the ability to lead large projects independently. Strong data analysis skills and the ability to work with large datasets to provide valuable insights. Team-oriented, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple functions. Committed to adhering to governance, risk, and compliance requirements. Qualifications & Experience: A degree in Actuarial Sciences, Chartered Accounting, Financial Management, or Management Accounting. At least 5+ years of senior financial planning and analysis experience, with exposure to both internal and external stakeholder management. Experience within the life insurance sector is highly advantageous.
