We are looking for a chef/product development professional at our franchise headquarters, overseeing culinary operations across all restaurant locations.
Job Overview
The Chef/Product Developer will be based at the Head Office Test Kitchen in George and will be responsible for;
- advising shops across the franchise.
- Have the ability to create menu items and then implement systems for stock management and wastage control.
- Teach these systems to shop staff in the various shops and to ensure they follow these systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and plan new menu items and specials, ensuring alignment with brand and standards.
- Provide guidance for franchisees on daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations specific to the ZA region.
- Create and implement systems for shops to effectively manage stock and control wastage.
- Work with nationwide suppliers to supply franchisees with the best products at the best prices.
- Evaluate food products and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Visit stores to ensure compliance.
- Implement and monitor food safety protocols to align with local regulations.
- Oversee the entire Elvis Brew menu and all associated ingredients.
- Implement systems for our kitchens to ensure they run efficiently.
- Upkeep of our online recipes and teaching platform. Constantly updating our recipes and preparation methods
as we grow and change.

- Culinary experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of food preparation and presentation techniques.
- Understanding of current culinary trends and customer preferences within the ZA region.
- Comprehensive understanding and appreciation of Elvis Brew's brand and vision.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. You need to be able to work with stock systems, see when shops are struggling and help them get back on track.
- Strong teaching skills to effectively train and mentor staff.
- Ability to create and implement systems for effective wastage management and stock control.
