Job Description:
As a Senior Payroll Administrator at their manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processes and ensuring timely and accurate payment of employee wages. You will work closely with the HR team and department managers to gather necessary payroll information, process payroll data, and maintain payroll records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a bi-weekly basis, monthly, etc.
2. Review and verify timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related data
3. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
4. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues
5. Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
6. Generate payroll reports and analyze payroll data for accuracy and completeness
7. Stay up-to-date on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance with changing requirements
8. Collaborate with the finance department on budgeting and forecasting payroll expenses
9. Train and mentor junior payroll administrators as needed
10. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
3. Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g. Access PeopleWare)
4. Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in the role
