Job Summary
PBT Group is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Oracle DB, SQL Server, and T-SQL, with any exposure to Ab Initio being a beneficial addition. The role involves developing and optimising data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and supporting business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for efficient data movement and transformation.
- Work with Oracle DB and SQL Server to manage and manipulate large datasets.
- Write and optimise T-SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Support data integration and ETL processes, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, working closely with business and technical teams.
- Ensure best practices in data modelling, security, and performance optimisation.
- Provide documentation and support for implemented solutions.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Oracle DB – Strong knowledge of database design, management, and performance tuning.
- SQL Server – Experience in database administration and query optimisation.
- T-SQL – Proficiency in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Ab Initio – Any exposure or knowledge will be beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience in ETL processes and data warehousing principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Criteria:
Qualifications/Certification:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Relevant database or ETL tool certifications (advantageous).
