Job Summary
Our client, in the mining industry, is based in eMalahleni, and they are looking for a Financial Manager to join their amazing team.
Position Overview:
This is a key role within the organization, and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a finance team of 15 members, ensuring financial management processes align with business objectives, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a dynamic finance team of 15 members, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee monthly management reporting for two business segments, covering six legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial insights.
- Take full responsibility for the preparation and review of annual financial statements, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of a new ERP system, scheduled for Q1 2025, overseeing the transition and integration.
- Manage and optimize liquidity and cash flow, ensuring the business maintains financial stability.
- Review and approve the payment schedule, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Oversee cost allocations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business activities.
- Supervise customer invoicing processes, ensuring timely, accurate billing in line with contractual terms.
- Manage SARS submissions, including VAT, income tax, PAYE, and other statutory requirements, ensuring full compliance with tax regulations.
- Review payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support in external financing applications, offering financial insights and data to support organizational growth.
- Undertake other financial management responsibilities as required, contributing to the overall success of the business.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in a financial management role (within the mining industry is highly advantageous.)
- Proven experience managing a finance team.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and the implementation process is a plus.
- Education and Qualifications:
- A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is preferable, but alternative qualifications (e.g., SAIPA) will also be considered.
- Strong technical financial knowledge, particularly within mining or related industries, is essential.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and statutory requirements.
- Expertise in cash flow management, cost allocations, and tax compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with external stakeholders and internal teams.
