Job Summary
Job duties & responsibilities: Develop and design processes for the expansion project, including flow sheets, mass and energy balances, and process simulations. Ensure that process designs are optimized for performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate process designs into the overall project plan. Analyze and optimize existing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and reliability. Identify and implement process improvements and technological upgrades to enhance plant performance. Monitor and evaluate process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend adjustments as needed. Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases to resolve process-related issues and challenges. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting for process failures or inefficiencies. Support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets for process engineering activities. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment and integration of process engineering work with overall project objectives. Manage and supervise process engineering teams and subcontractors as needed. Ensure that all process designs and operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for process systems and implement necessary controls. Promote and enforce a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among project teams. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for process designs, procedures, and changes. Generate and review process documentation, including operating procedures, commissioning reports, and technical specifications. Provide regular reports on process engineering activities, progress, and performance to project stakeholders. Develop and deliver training programs for plant operators and maintenance personnel on new processes and systems. Ensure that all personnel are knowledgeable about process changes and operational procedures. Serve as the primary point of contact for process-related queries and coordination with project teams and external stakeholders. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure smooth project execution. Any ad hoc tasks as requested by Management. Education and Experience: National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus At least 8 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry.
