Job Summary
Our client has an opportunity available for a Category Manager based in Centurion.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate diploma or degree in supply chain or commerce.
- Professional registration at the Institute of Purchasing and Supply SA or CIPS is preferred.
- Matric
- Code 8 driver’s license.
- 5+ years’ experience in Procurement and Supply Chain.
- General knowledge in finance, law and auditing.
- General understanding of Health and Safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all procurement related activities of third parties spend, including strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Identify, implement and maintain commodity and service contracts to support the business.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of all the respective supply markets, competitors and service innovations.
- Facilitate the implementation of procurement change initiatives to improve business performance.
- Manage all aspects of the vendor rationalization strategy to support the business nationally, including vendor selection, compliance and performance.
- Build relationships with customers to enhance customer experience.
- Manage all contracts within the various categories.
- Perform procurement analyses and reporting to assist management to track, monitor and achieve departmental targets.
