Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client is a leading food manufacturing company based in the Western Cape, dedicated to the production and distribution of high-quality food products. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a motivated and skilled Planner to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive production plan that aligns with sales forecasts, raw material availability, and production capacity.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to gather information on customer demands, new product launches, and promotions.
- Analyze sales trends, production capacities, and historical data to determine appropriate inventory levels, production schedules, and lead times.
- Monitor and manage raw material inventory levels to ensure availability for production while minimizing waste and maintaining cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule and prioritize manufacturing activities, ensuring on-time delivery of finished goods.
- Continuously monitor and update production plans to adapt to changing demands or constraints, such as equipment downtime or supply chain disruptions.
- Conduct regular production planning meetings with cross-functional teams to review plans, address issues, and provide updates on production statuses.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all production activities comply with food safety and quality standards.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and develop strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to production planning and food industry operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Planner within the food manufacturing or related industry, preferably in a high-volume production environment.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning principles, inventory management techniques, demand planning, and supply chain processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in using planning software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of productivity.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems is a plus.
