Hire Resolve's Client is seeking a skilled Ship Chandling Manager to join a leading logistics company based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee the ship chandler operations, ensuring the efficient supply of provisions, stores, and services to vessels in port.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the ship chandling operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery to vessels.
• Coordinate with various departments to meet the needs of ships, including procurement, logistics, and supply chain.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services are provided.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock for effective operations.
• Oversee compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage a team of chandlers and provide training and support to ensure performance and development.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to ship chandling services.
• Prepare reports on operations, sales, and inventory for management.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Ship Chandling Manager or similar role in the maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of ship chandling processes and inventory management.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage a team effectively.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• A degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
