Job Summary
Our client, based in the east of Johannesburg and a technology leader offering future-orientated railway systems to rail asset owners across sub-Saharan Africa that designs, manufactures and supplies all turnouts and turnouts components, supplies railway rails, and provides welding and logistics services is currently seeking the services of a Maintenance Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Artisan (Millwright) or B Tech Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years’ work experience in the role in a mechanical engineering environment
- Management/Leadership training certificate (added advantage)
- High level of management skills, e.g. planning and problem solving
- High level of diagnostic skills
- Exceptional customer relations management skills
- Assertive and decisive
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- MS Office literate, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
- Proper implementation of functional policies
- Develop and implement new initiatives to enhance processes
- Develop & implement an effective preventive maintenance plan
- Implement financial controls to manage functional budget
- Ensure effective & efficient outsource of maintenance activities/work
- Manage tool store
- Effective management of fuel inventories
- Ensure compressed air is always available
- Ensure lifting equipment is inspected and maintained in line with legal requirements
- Ensure reliable availability of critical mechanical components
- Develop individual and team competence
- Effective management of team performance
- Maintain an effective management information system
