Job Summary
Workshop Mechanic required for a reputable company based in East London, Eastern Cape
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 yrs. proficiency working as a Mechanic
- Thorough understanding for mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems and hydraulics
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work
- Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, and tools following operations manuals and manufacturer’s instructions; adjusting reels and back lap reels.
- Responsible for general, detailed and specific inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and service of all company vehicles and equipment
- Follow preventive maintenance program
- Maintain service log on all equipment
- Keep a clean and safe work area
- Display a good work attitude at all times
- Oversee workshop area maintenance by ensuring that workshop remains clean and orderly; tools are kept clean and in proper working condition
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels
