What we are looking for:
We are looking for an HR Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's human resources functions. You will play a critical role in attracting, developing and retaining top talent to support the growth and success of our event management business. Your strategic thinking, people management expertise and commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work culture will be essential in empowering our team to deliver exceptional event experiences
What you will do:
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the event management industry
- Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews and employment offers
- Design and oversee the onboarding programme to ensure a seamless integration of new hires into the organisation
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their staffing needs and provide recommendations for strategic hires
Employee Development and Training:
- Assess the training and development needs of employees across the organisation
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programmes to enhance the skills and capabilities of the event management team
- Provide coaching and mentoring to employees, supporting their career growth and professional development
- Identify and facilitate opportunities for cross-training, job shadowing and job rotation to foster a well-rounded workforce
Performance Management and Talent Retention:
- Establish and maintain a robust performance management system, including goal setting, feedback and performance reviews
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement fair and effective compensation and benefits programmes
- Monitor employee engagement and satisfaction and implement initiatives to improve retention and job satisfaction
- Identify and address any issues or concerns related to employee relations and provide guidance to managers on effective people management practices
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure the company's HR policies, procedures and practices comply with all relevant labour laws, employment regulations and industry best practices
- Manage the company's employee records, documentation and reporting requirements to maintain regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement policies and protocols to address workplace safety, harassment and other HR-related risks
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on HR-related matters, providing guidance and recommendations to mitigate risks and protect the organisation
Organisational Culture and Employee Engagement:
- Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative work culture that aligns with the company's values and supports the overall business objectives
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities, recognition programmes and social events, to enhance morale and job satisfaction
- Serve as a champion for diversity, equity and inclusion within the organisation and implement programmes and policies to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Collect and analyse employee feedback and use insights to continuously improve the company's HR practices and organisational culture
What you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum five years' experience in a HR management role, preferably in the event management or service industry
- Excellent understanding of labour laws, employment regulations and HR best practices
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organisation
- Proficient in using HR management software, data analysis tools and other relevant digital technologies
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to navigate complex HR challenges
- Passion for creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive and high-performing work culture
- Certification in HR management (e.g., SHRM-CP, SPHR) is a plus
