Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Yacht Chef with a strong background in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine to join a private yacht in Qatar. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in the GCC region and be skilled in preparing high-quality meals for yacht owners, guests, and crew while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, presentation, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare a variety of Mediterranean and Italian dishes, catering to the preferences of the yacht owner and guests.
- Ensure all meals are cooked to perfection with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Manage the yacht’s galley operations, including provisioning, stock management, and budgeting.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the galley.
- Adjust menus based on dietary restrictions, guest preferences, and seasonal ingredients.
- Work closely with the crew to ensure seamless meal service, coordinating with stewards for guest dining arrangements.
- Prepare meals for special occasions, themed dinners, and events on board.
- Maintain proper storage and inventory of food supplies, ensuring minimal waste.
- Adapt to dynamic schedules and changing guest requirements with flexibility and efficiency.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in the GCC region as a chef in luxury yachts, private households, or high-end restaurants.
- Strong expertise in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine with an innovative approach to plating and presentation.
- Previous experience working on yachts or in a high-end hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP certification is a plus).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, confined environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with crew members.
- Professional culinary training or relevant certifications are preferred.
- Flexibility to travel and work long hours as per the yacht’s schedule.
