Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be passionate about analyzing data, including gross profits, inventory management, and financial planning. This role is perfect for someone with a background in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) who is eager to grow within a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Analyze key financial data, including gross profit margins, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS). Provide insights into trends and performance.
- Financial Planning & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Support the planning of operational costs to ensure profitability.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports for management, highlighting key metrics such as revenue performance, gross profit, and variances from the budget.
- Inventory Control & Management: Work closely with the operations team to monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient stock management. Assist in optimizing inventory turnover and cost control.
- Cost Analysis: Monitor and analyze the cost structure of various operational aspects, recommending strategies to reduce costs while maintaining service standards.
- Collaborative Support: Provide financial insights and support to various departments (e.g., operations, sales, procurement) to drive data-informed decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience (even at an entry-level) in financial analysis, accounting, ideally within the hospitality or service industries.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial analysis and reporting.
- Financial Tools & Software: Familiarity with accounting and financial planning software (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to report and present financial information clearly.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Hospitality Experience: Previous exposure to the hospitality industry is a plus, but not essential.
- ERP Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for financial management.
