Job Opportunity: Bookkeeper (Internal) - Hospitality Background
Location: Northern Suburbs, Johannesburg
Salary: R30,000 – R45,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial records up to trial balance for a premier restaurant.
- Process financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Manage payroll processing, including tips and overtime.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and hospitality-specific financial guidelines.
- Communicate financial insights and budgets with management.
- Track expenses, and vendor payments, and maintain accurate records.
- Support inventory management and cost control initiatives.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
- 3-5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
