Job Summary
About the role
The Marketing Intern will support the Marketing Manager in executing various marketing initiatives, including in-store promotions, traditional marketing campaigns, social media strategies, and the design of marketing materials. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, who holds an Honours degree in Marketing, the intern will play a vital role in enhancing brand visibility and driving customer engagement. This role contributes to the organization’s overall marketing efforts by assisting in the creation of compelling content, analyzing campaign performance, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing in-store marketing strategies to attract and engage customers.
- Support traditional marketing campaigns, including print, events, and direct mail, ensuring consistency with the brand's image.
- Create, schedule, and manage content for social media platforms, monitoring engagement and contributing to audience growth.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on the design and development of marketing materials, such as brochures, posters, and online graphics.
- Liaise with store managers and sales teams to gather feedback on promotional activities.
- Maintain and update marketing databases and contact lists,
- Assist with e-commerce marketing strategies.
- Contribute creative ideas for marketing campaigns and promotional strategies.
- Support the Marketing Manager in administrative tasks (such as setting up social media accounts and e-commerce accounts).
Requirements
Qualification in Marketing.
Basic understanding of marketing principles and digital marketing strategies.
Have a general interest in products/willingness to learn as this would assist in the marketing strategy.
Good admin. Skills in setting up social media accounts, updating content, etc.
Creative thinker with a strong interest in social media and content creation.
Proactive and eager to learn, with a hands-on approach to supporting marketing initiatives.
Good communication skills for collaborating with team members, store managers, and sales teams.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and an interest in audience engagement.
Knowledge and passion of basic design principles, and ability/willingness to learn design on CANVA, etc.
Tech-savvy, and creative with a passion and interest in digital marketing activities including e-commerce.
South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34.
Must not have taken part in the YES Program before.
