Job Title: Tactical Response Officer/Armed Response Officer
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (NQF level 4).
- Valid Driver's Licence.
- PSIRA Registered (Minimum Grade C).
- Firearm competency.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Armed Response.
- Exceptions can be made for young professionals who can be trained to meet the requirements through training.
- Own Vehicle required

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Functional outputs and activities will include, but are not limited to:
Armed Response:
- In the event of a threat, follow Standard Operating Procedures and all laws, prioritising the safety of all individuals involved.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures when reporting incidents.
- Immediately respond to alarms from Combined Private Investigations or its clients.
- If the alarm is confirmed, assess the situation and keep the Control Room informed of any new activity.
- Perform arrests on intruders or other offenders and keep them in custody.
- Coordinate with SAPS, management, and other relevant parties to lawfully hand over suspects.
- Ensure response times adhere to SOPs.
- Promptly respond to situations where a member of the public's life is in danger.
- Ensure the safety of all individuals (including the public) by thoroughly checking premises.
- Take detailed notes and photos at the crime scene, conducting a thorough investigation.
- Report back to the Control Room on the response request.
- Conduct client reconnaissance as needed.
- Execute waylay operations when required.
Reporting:
- Record all incidents to the Control Room and senior personnel, following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform a proper handover at the end of each shift.
- Hand over firearms and vehicles according to company policies and procedures.
- Inform relevant parties of any discrepancies, follow up on actions taken, and report progress.
Site Checks:
- Conduct daily site inspections and cover all vulnerable areas.
- Ensure visibility at standoff points and during area patrols.
- Continuously patrol during the shift, effectively deterring crime through visible security measures.
- Report any suspicious activity to the NOC.
- Investigate and respond to unusual or suspicious circumstances, including taking photos if necessary.
- Help prevent theft, arson, sabotage, vandalism, and other crimes in the area.
- Report any defects or defaults in the area to the Control Room.
Crime Prevention:
- Foster relationships with internal and external crime-affiliated third parties, law enforcement agencies, and clients to combat and minimise criminal activity.
- Develop preventative measures to minimise crime-related risks.
- Conduct proactive research on the root causes of criminal activity.
- Make recommendations to prevent criminal activity.
- Evaluate security measures in high-risk areas and provide recommendations to combat criminal activity.
General:
- Collaborate with clients, management, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Efficiently handle client complaints and requests.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and up to date with service plan.
- Treat clients with respect and maintain the company's professional image.
