Job Summary
Key Responsibilities: Facilities Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of infrastructure, including buildings, utilities, and associated systems. Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure facilities remain operational and compliant with regulations. Manage infrastructure-related upgrades, expansions, and construction projects. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure all facilities are managed in compliance with HSE regulations and standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to mitigate risks and improve safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety among staff and contractors. Infrastructure Planning & Optimization: Develop long-term strategies for infrastructure sustainability and efficiency. Monitor facility performance metrics and recommend improvements to reduce costs and environmental impact. Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize utility usage and equipment reliability. Budgeting & Resource Management: Prepare and manage budgets for facility operations and maintenance. Ensure cost control and resource optimization across infrastructure projects. Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors and contractors. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with all local, national, and international regulations related to facilities and infrastructure. Ensure all required certifications, inspections, and permits are up-to-date. Stay updated on industry standards and implement changes as needed. Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and manage a team of facility engineers, technicians, and support staff. Coordinate with other departments to ensure infrastructure supports operational needs. Provide training and development opportunities for team members. Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for infrastructure-related incidents. Act as the primary point of contact for resolving facility-related emergencies. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities or infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in the oil and gas industry. Proven track record in managing complex infrastructure and maintenance programs. Strong knowledge of South African building codes, environmental laws, and safety regulations. Certification in facilities or project management (e.g., PMP, IFMA) is advantageous. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
