Hire Resolve's client, a demolition and bulk earthworks contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team in Midrand, Gauteng. This role is critical to the success of the supply chain management process and will be responsible for overseeing and integrating procurement strategies to optimize sourcing and purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities to ensure cost-effective purchasing and continuity of supply.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies based on market analysis and trend forecasting.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to drive product availability and sales.
• Analyse purchasing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
• Manage supplier performance through regular assessments and compliance checks.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes that may impact procurement strategies.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years' experience in a purchasing or buying role, ideally within the construction and civil engineering sector.
• Procurement / Buying qualification
• Experience working in Construction, Civil, Building, and Roads
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of inventory management and logistics processes.
