Job Summary
The Role As Senior Financial Manager, you will work closely with the executive team, gaining broad exposure to the business, and be accountable for the accounting function and key financial processes. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will collaborate with senior management and be responsible for: Managing the accounting function and leading the Finance Department team. Ensuring IFRS compliance. Overseeing monthly reporting, Annual Financial Statements, and the audit engagement. Managing VAT & income tax returns and SARS queries. Handling insurance matters and budgets. Key process management, ensuring effectiveness, maintaining efficiencies, and signing off on process compliance activities. Managing projects from planning to execution and debriefing, coordinating resources, preparing reports, ensuring timely delivery, and alerting management to exceptions. Cash flow management & forecasts, compiling reports for Exco, Board meetings, and funders, and handling ad hoc tasks. BCom (Hons) / CTA with Accounting as a major. Minimum of 15 years' experience, preferably with exposure to mid-sized companies and reporting to external stakeholders. Leadership experience in a financial role. Strong working knowledge of IFRS. Project management skills. Proficiency in general Microsoft Office tools, especially advanced Excel, and exposure to ERP systems & Xero/Sage/Quickbooks. Flexibility to adapt to business changes. Analytical, organized, precise, and meticulous with problem-solving abilities. Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and strive for results. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Strong team player and motivator.
