Job Summary
Job Overview:
Hire Resolve's Client is looking for a skilled and experienced Fitter to join their team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing various machinery and equipment to ensure maximum productivity and operational efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise and hands-on experience with industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of machinery to ensure functionality and safety.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on production equipment and machinery.
- Dismantle, repair, and replace defective components as needed.
- Install and align new machinery and equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications as necessary.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document all repair activities.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
- Relevant trade certification as a Fitter.
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in welding, fabrication, or related fields.
- Experience in a steel manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety standards in industrial settings.
