As the Health and Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace by enforcing health and safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and implementing preventive measures to minimize risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Promote a proactive health and safety culture among employees and subcontractors.
- Develop, draft, and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor work practices to identify and address unsafe activities.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and accident/incident investigations.
- Provide health and safety training sessions and conduct toolbox talks.
- Review and approve subcontractor health and safety documentation.
- Compile and submit monthly health and safety reports and statistics.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Education: Matric certificate.
- Certifications: SAMTRAC qualification and registration with SAIOSH as a Technical Member.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Health and Safety Officer.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
