Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale road and transport infrastructure projects in Durban. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent project management skills, and in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and within-budget delivery. Site Management: Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements. Contract Administration: Manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and consultants, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and resolving disputes. Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the project. Stakeholder Management: Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Requirements Qualifications: B.Tech Civil Engineering (minimum) Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in road and transport infrastructure projects Certifications: Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) would be an advantage Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of: GCC (General Conditions of Contract) FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) COLTO (Committee of Land Transport Officials) COTO (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) SANS (South African National Standards) MS Projects (Microsoft Project management software)
