Job Summary
Job duties & responsibilities: Lead and manage all construction activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. Oversee the daily operations on site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and plans. Manage and supervise construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with safety standards and contractual obligations. Allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site and ensure effective communication among all parties. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and address potential hazards or non-compliance issues. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards. Monitor construction quality to ensure that all work meets the required standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and tests to verify that materials and workmanship comply with project requirements. Address and rectify any quality issues or deficiencies promptly and effectively. Oversee construction budgets and control costs, including managing expenditures and tracking financial performance. Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met. Monitor progress against the project plan and adjust schedules and resources as necessary to address any delays or changes. Serve as the primary point of contact for construction-related inquiries and issues. Provide regular updates and reports to project managers, stakeholders, and clients on construction progress, challenges, and achievements. Facilitate effective communication between all project team members and external parties. Maintain accurate and up-to-date construction documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders. Prepare and submit detailed reports on construction activities, performance, and compliance. Ensure proper documentation of all construction work and modifications for future reference. Oversee the final stages of construction, including commissioning and handover of the project to the client. Ensure that all project deliverables are completed to satisfaction and that any remaining issues are resolved. Conduct post-project reviews to assess performance, gather lessons learned, and implement improvements for future projects. Stay updated with the latest industry best practices, technologies, and regulations. Any ad hoc tasks as requested by Management. Education and Experience: National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are advantageous. At least 8 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry.
