Our client is an Independent primhigh School ( Gr 8 - 12) offering IEB Curriculum
Our client is looking for value driven leader to make a meaningful contribution in the capacity of Principal for our clients school, starting January 2025, within our clients ethos, the Principal is the frontrunner of the organisation, a community developer and team leader. The Board invites applications from individuals who meet the following key criteria:
General Requirements:
- English language fluency
- Completed Bachelor of Education or PGCE degree
- 3 years of leadership experience within a high school environment
- SACE registration
- Clear criminal record
- Good understanding of technology of a classroom
- Experience in an online school environment advantageous
A few focus areas would include :
- Establish and communicate the school’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives to improve student performance and school culture.
- Serve as a role model for students and staff, embodying the values and expectations of the school.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Ensure that academic standards align with district, state, or national standards (r IEB)
- Support teachers in instructional planning and delivery, often through classroom observations and feedback.
- Conduct performance evaluations for teachers and support staff, providing constructive feedback.
- Organize professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Address disciplinary issues, mediating conflicts and working with students, parents, and counselors when necessary.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and respect.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders through newsletters, social media, and school events.
- nsure that the school complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Submit reports to the school district, board of education, or governing bodies as needed.
- Communicate with students, parents, and staff during crises, providing clear and timely updates.
Experience
- 6 years plus teaching experience with a minimum of 3 years in a management/leadership role.
- Advantageous Extras:
Honours or a Masters qualification will be advantageous
