Job Summary
The ideal candidate will hold a Mechanical Engineering qualification and will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of factory machinery, ensuring operational efficiency, and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Maintenance Support:
- Provide mechanical support across all factory machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Ensure equipment is operating at peak efficiency and reliability.

Maximize Machinery Uptime:
- Develop and implement strategies for improving machinery uptime and reducing unplanned downtime.
- Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve recurring mechanical issues.

Routine Maintenance Planning:
- Plan, organize, and carry out routine preventative maintenance schedules on machinery and equipment.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

Oversee Artisan Fitters:
- Lead and manage a team of Artisan Fitters, ensuring they perform maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard.
- Provide mentorship, training, and guidance on best practices and safety protocols.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction:
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in machinery and processes to optimize performance and reduce operational costs.
- Propose and implement changes or upgrades to machinery and systems to enhance efficiency.

Collaboration with Other Technicians:
- Work closely with the Ammonia Technician and PLC/Electronics Technician to ensure that the entire mechanical, ammonia, and electrical systems operate seamlessly.
- Contribute to cross-disciplinary problem-solving to maintain overall factory equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification (Degree, HND, or equivalent).
- Experience working in FMCG or Pharmaceutical industries is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement timely solutions.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and scheduling.
- Ability to lead a small team (Artisan Fitters) and provide guidance on mechanical issues.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and reducing operational costs.
- Health and safety conscious, with a strong track record of adhering to safety standards.
