Job Title: Senior Quality Manager (Consulting or Permanent)
About Our Client:
With a focus on excellence and sustainability, our client leads the fruit wholesale market by combining innovative practices with deep agricultural knowledge. They are seeking a Senior Quality Manager with expertise in orchard management and horticultural practices to consult within the Eastern Cape -Kirkwood, Patensie, Addo, Katrivier based farms.
Position Overview:
The Senior Quality Manager will oversee and guide quality standards across orchards and production sites, ensuring premium-quality produce. This role is suited for an experienced consultant or a permanent professional passionate about quality and horticulture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quality management practices across orchards and production sites.
- Provide expert guidance on spraying programs and horticultural best practices.
- Conduct quality assessments and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain quality standards.
- Train and mentor junior staff on quality processes and protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of orchard management, spraying programs, and horticulture.
- Proven experience in quality management, ideally in the fruit industry.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work as a consultant or permanent staff member as needed.
- Driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
Location: Farms based in Eastern Cape - Kirkwood, Patensie, Addo, Katrivier.
Salary:
- If permanent full time position, R40 000-R50 000 per month, negotiable for the right candidate, depending on experience.
- Consulting hourly rate can be negotiated depending on skills, experience and hours worked.
Position Type: Preferable: Consulting/freelance, open to taking on a full time permanent candidate.
