Job Summary
Main purpose of the job:
- To perform telephonic data collection tasks from households in the Gauteng Research Triangle (GRT-Inspired, including Hillbrow, Melusi and Atteridgeville West)
Location:
- Wits School of Public Health, Parktown - Johannesburg
Key performance areas:
- Administer the questionnaire telephonically and simultaneously enter information into the relevant database
- Ensure daily telephonic data collection targets are met
- Identify and escalate priority issues
- Route calls to appropriate resource
- Document all call information according to standard operating procedures
- Participate in regular and ad hoc training and meetings for data collection
- Educate research participants on GRT Inspired research activities
- Conduct any other duties assigned by the line manager
Required minimum education and training:
Required minimum work experience:
- Minimum 1-year experience as fieldworker or call centre agent.
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
- Fieldwork or call centre work experience will be an advantage
- Good voice projection
- Good data capturing and typing skills
- Empathy with the respondent is vital
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
