Job Summary
This global manufacturing company is a market leader in its industry, providing solutions to the mining industry.
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation/Electrical Technician with a background in the mining sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of underground mining equipment. This position requires regular travel to mining sites in the Rustenburg and Limpopo regions, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards and downtime is minimized.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of underground mining equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics on electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize equipment failure.
- Work collaboratively with on-site teams to identify and address any operational issues.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry standards and site-specific requirements.
- Participate in safety audits and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and downtime.
- Provide regular feedback and reports on equipment performance and potential improvements.
- Work closely with the maintenance manager to plan and prioritize maintenance schedules based on site requirements.
- Travel and Site Support
- Be available for on-call support to address urgent maintenance needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified as an Instrumentation Technician or Electrical Technician, with relevant trade certifications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the mining sector.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems used in underground mining equipment.
- Must be medically fit and have a clear criminal record.
