Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production and timely delivery of high-quality products. This role involves leading a team, managing resources, and ensuring the smooth operation of the plant.
As the Plant Manager you'll oversee daily stock levels, sales targets, delivery schedules, and ensure the readiness of both the plant and fleet. Accurate record-keeping will be key, as you’ll sign off and correct clock sheets for payroll and manage all incidents by recording, analysing root causes, and implementing resolutions. Your role will include providing clear daily instructions to the team, resolving staff issues, minimising overtime through effective time management, and promptly addressing customer queries and complaints. You’ll also play a crucial role in maintaining the plant, from coordinating scheduled maintenance to addressing breakdowns, power outages, water shortages, and technical issues. You will monitor production processes and support your team in improving quality and productivity.
Candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Operations, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, coupled with 2-3 years of senior management experience and 5+ years in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in conversational Afrikaans is required, along with your own transport. This role demands someone with a passion for leadership, discipline, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting!
