- National Diploma, B.Eng. or BSC in Electrical, Electronic Engineering
- Recognized Engineering Trade Test Electrician
- GCC (factories) will be an added advantage but not a prerequisite.
- Between 5- 10 years Engineering or Trade experience of which 2 - 5 years in a management role.
- Advance Automation will be an added advantage.
- Excellent understanding of engineering standards.
- Sound knowledge of the OHSACT and regulations.
- Budget control, CAPEX and Projects.
- Continuous improvement and preventative maintenance.
- To Manage a team of Technicians
DUTIES:
- Maintain and fault find on plant instrumentation e.g. PLC (Allen Bradley and Siemens S5 & S7 + SCADA
- To ensure that all projects and modifications meet required specifications and deadlines by
Managing projects and modifications, adjudication of quotes and ensure compliance with required specifications and OSHAct.
- To become an integral part of any future planning on the site, new technology of present plant and processes by recommending methods that will improve the product, justify the purchase of the best equipment to do the job and determine the life span of electronic equipment and plans for replacement.
- To understand and own plant classifications by checking of existing systems, classification of new equipment and re-classification of own equipment when required, to focus maintenance on more critical equipment and have the correct spares and stock levels.
- To set test procedures by recommending set limits a specification for all electronic equipment and use specialized methods, by getting standard test methods from suppliers and periodicity checks to perform correct fault finding and comply with CLIENT standards.
- To manage changes to base documentation, i.e. manuals, P&ID, and all instrumentation drawings.
- To develop maintenance procedure in conjunction with the Engineering department by contacting suppliers of relevant equipment, utilizing manuals, P&ID and engineering documentation and checking all existing maintenance procedures.
- To perform root cause analyses by understanding the design basis of the equipment, optimizing the energy consumption of the plant, and analyzing electrical stoppages.
- To work safely and promote job safety.
- To perform after-hours standby duty on the plant.
