Job Summary
Job purpose
Manage overall supply chain and responsible for the effective and successful management of staff, planning, productivity, purchasing, distribution, quality and safety measures as established and set for the Supply Chain Department. Enhance the operational procedures, systems and principles in the areas of information flow, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to improve systems.
Duties and responsibilities
- Procurement
Lead procurement team to source the right products at the right time
- negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Monitor & evaluate supplier performance, address any supply issues to minimize disruptions.
- Develop and manage company BBBEE preferential procurement strategy
- Inventory and Warehouse Management
Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods.
• Ensure the efficient management of warehouse operations, including stock control, receiving, and dispatching.
• Implement inventory management strategies to reduce waste and optimize stock turnover.
- Logistics and Distribution
Develop and manage distribution strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
• Lead team in collaborating with logistics partners to optimize transport routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.
- Demand Forecasting and Planning
Oversee the demand planning team and ensure collaboration with the sales teams to forecast demand.
• Adjust supply chain strategies in response to sales trends and customer needs.
• Implement demand planning tools and methods to accurately predict inventory requirements.
- Cost and Budget Management
Control and manage supply chain-related costs, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
• Prepare and manage the supply chain budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure supply chain KPIs such as inventory turnover, delivery lead times etc are tracked
- Sustainability and Risk Management
Develop and implement sustainable sourcing and supply chain practices that align with company’s environmental goals.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as raw material shortages, production delays, and logistical challenges.
• Prepare contingency plans to manage supply disruptions and maintain business continuity.
- Technology and Process Optimization
Use data analytics to track and improve supply chain performance and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
• Lead initiatives to streamline supply chain processes, reduce lead times, and enhance productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in supply chain management preferably in the automotive industry
- Minimum 5 years experience in management
- MS Office – especially Excel, Power Point & Project
- Experienced on Supply Chain ERP modules, preferable SAP

The role is an office bound position with travel requirements when needed.
