Job Summary
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Strategically evaluate current state of business and align the Foundry Management Team to move to true world class manufacturing status.
- Drive the Foundry Management team to achieve daily set targets in line with the company and department goals and objectives as agreed upon between Senior management.
- Responsible for summarizing, analysing and generating downtime reports of all shifts OEE sheets, taking correct actions and/or escalating to service departments should target not be achieved.
- Instill and improve disciplinary practices within the Foundry.
- Improve communication in the department and with other departments.
- Play an active role in the daily management meetings and problem solving.
- Explore and incorporate artificial intelligence within the Foundry processes and incorporate machine learning principles.
- Play an active role in the live cycle management of casting equipment and dies & understand the process of Dimensional control.
- Analysis Data from Scada, Halden, Clarity, Data prophet and all system that are in place.
- Active involvement in the process of core design, recommending good Engineering design practices in order that core life is extended.
- Early core failures must be investigated and analysed.
- Maintain budgeted manning levels for the Foundry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A tertiary qualification in Quality / Production field.
- Successfully completion of Supervision Program.
- Trade certificate or relevant trade will be beneficial.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- At least 10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Supervisor.
- Knowledge of control plans, SPC and FMEA.
- Working with Problem Solving Methodology (Six sigma, 5 why’s and 8D).
- Energy management, Project Management and optimization of plant equipment.
SKILLS:
- Good communication and decision-making skills.
- Leadership skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Analytic and innovative and fosters constructive teamwork.
- Computer literacy essential.
