Job Summary
We are seeking a suitably qualified Crane Fitter for the Maintenance Department for a manufacturing concern in Perseverance. You will be accountable for providing preventative maintenance and attending to mechanical breakdowns to ensure plant availability and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain all lifting equipment (LTI)
- Repair and maintain all electrical hoist, wire and chain hoists
- Responsible for inspections on all lifting equipment
- Assist Lifting Machine Inspector with load testing and inspection
- Responsible for preventative maintenance on all hoist and overhead cranes
- Responsible for update and filing of all service and inspection sheets
- Conduct breakdown maintenance, complete proactive maintenance / maintain plant and machinery
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Perform planned maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Adhere to industry environmental, safety and OHSA standards
- Fault finding, testing and evaluating equipment for irregularities then repairing the same
- Investigate problem areas by reading and working from mechanical drawings
- Safety installation and compliance
- Use the planned maintenance system with reference to the inline maintenance schedules and shutdown maintenance schedules
- Adhere to both industry quality standards and the requirements of ISO9001
- Where appropriate, oversee work of contractors on site
- Provide support and assistance to all departments
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified Fitter or Millwright with recognized Trade Test
- 3 – 5 Years post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment
- Preference will be given to those registered LMI or LTI’s
- Must be able to climb and work on heights with no medical restrictions
- Must have own reliable transport
- Electrical experience will be an advantage
Screening:
- Undergo a screening and assessment process
- Work overtime/shifts and be on standby and/or overtime at short notice
