Job Summary
Our client, a leading manufacturer of equipment for the mining and industrial sectors, is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimise their production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, meeting quality standards, and achieving production goals within set timelines and budgets. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
- Coordinate production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow optimisation.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage the production team, including supervisors and operators.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training to enhance team skills.
- Ensure production output meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Drive lean manufacturing practices and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the production environment.
- Oversee inventory levels and ensure availability of raw materials and components.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to manage supplier relationships and stock levels.
- Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Analyse financial performance and report variances to management.
- Stay updated on advancements in manufacturing technologies.
- Recommend and implement new tools and technologies to enhance production processes.
Requirements
- Qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, in an electrical manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of leading teams and improving production processes.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance principles and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
