Job Summary
Hire Resolve's client, a well-established meat processing company, is seeking an experienced Abattoir Technical Manager to join their team. As the Abattoir Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the abattoir, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and implementing best practices for quality control and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic technical and food safety plans to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Lead and mentor a team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing food quality and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes and food safety and quality standards.
- Manage the day-to-day aspects of the site based technical functions and oversee the FSMS systems, ensuring they are effective and up to date.
- Ensure audit compliance with respect to internal, external, legal and customer requirements.
- Set and drive departmental KPI’s and challenge improvement when required to ensure targets are achieved and improved.
- Ensuring that our customers Codes of Practice is adhered to and any changes are implemented and effectively communicated to the wider business.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (food science, meat processing, etc.)
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical management role within the meat processing industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proven track record in process improvement and cost reduction
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and drive technical excellence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
